The Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council of Mohave County, INC, based in Kingman, Arizona, traces its roots back to 2010 when former Marines Jerry Ambrose and Gene Crego sought to unite various veteran organizations to better assist veterans in need and advocate for their issues. Initially named the Kingman Veterans Council, it quickly expanded its scope to encompass all of Mohave County, later being renamed in honor of Jerry Ambrose after his passing. Since then, the council has grown to include a diverse array of member organizations, extending beyond traditional veterans' groups to encompass community service organizations and businesses, reflecting a commitment to collaborative support for veterans throughout the county.
Central to the JAVC's mission is its dedication to serving veterans through proactive initiatives like the veterans Stand Down, launched in 2013. This hallmark project brings together organizations, groups, and volunteers from across Mohave County to provide comprehensive assistance to homeless and in-need veterans. With a focus on adaptability and responsiveness to evolving needs, the JAVC continues to evolve its programs and projects to ensure that veterans receive the support and advocacy they deserve, fostering a stronger, more connected community that stands in solidarity with its veterans.
