Notably, during World War II, Kingman played a pivotal role as the site of the United States Army Air Force (USAAF) airfield. The Kingman Army Airfield, established as an aerial gunnery training base, became one of the USAAF's largest, training over 35,000 soldiers and airmen. Post-war, the Kingman Airfield continued its legacy by serving as a prominent reclamation site for obsolete military aircraft.
